This is officially our kids first concert! They loved it. I cannot believe the show this guy puts on. I mean who doesn’t love Weird Al
About the venue: This was at the zoo, so same story pretty much. Except that, Averie and I went really early and put our chairs down at 11:30. We were first in line, YEP, first! It was awesome. This time we brought our table and had ourselves a nice little spread. We sat on the tier directly behind the dancing and next to the ADA section. The closest, most centered you can get and be able to sit in chairs. One weird thing to me was that NO ONE in the crowd behind us stood at all. It was so contrary to all the other concerts we’ve been to. We even got harassed by the people behind us but I asked the lawn usher if it was ok that I was standing and he said it was perfectly fine. Lame crowd as far as I could tell.
About the music: Holy cow the show this guy puts on is amazing. He literally changes costumes nearly every song. He plays clips from his Weird Al TV between each song. My son seriously could not get enough. We bought his children’s book hoping he’d sign it, but that was a big fat NO. Apparently he doesn’t sign much. I did get the stage guy to toss me a guitar pick and even though it wasn’t branded and it was just a plain gray guitar pick, I know where it was from! 😉 And I’ll say so in my scrapbook. Haha! I have also NEVER seen the merchandise line so long at a concert before. And so many people came with or bought t-shirts there. Kinda nuts. I will absolutely go to another concert of his. But I will say this one thing. He doesn’t really connect with the audience, like look out, or talk much. He is definitely performing, like a skit or a play, except WAY better. Everything he did was so funny and his costumes were great. As we were leaving all of his people that he gets to dress up in star wars suits were standing there letting you get pictures. That was fun, at least the kids got to see them. Averie was so excited to get her pic with Chewy. Another thing I gotta say is how wonderful it was to see someone very family friendly. He really does a great job.
